A little about me
I'm Kat, an independent brand and creative consultant with a particular love for interiors, design and the stories that make brands worth knowing.
I've spent my career shaping the direction of some of Britain's most recognisable home and lifestyle brands, including Neptune, The White Company and OKA. From defining a brand's visual identity and developing campaigns to directing photography, creating content and leading creative teams, I've always been drawn to the space where good ideas become something tangible.
I believe the best brands have a point of view. Something distinctive that runs through everything they do, from the big campaigns to the smallest details. And while I have a real appreciation for beautiful creative work, I'm equally interested in what sits behind it: the thinking, the customer and the commercial ambition.
Having worked both strategically and hands-on throughout my career, I know how to develop a creative vision, bring the right people together and make it happen. I'm as comfortable shaping the bigger picture as I am getting stuck into the detail.
These days, I work independently with brands I believe in, offering creative direction, brand strategy and senior creative leadership on a project or ongoing basis. I love getting under the skin of a business, understanding what makes it special and finding thoughtful, interesting ways to bring that to life.
Outside of work, I'm usually rearranging something in my house, hunting for vintage finds or spending time with my young son, who is currently ensuring I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of Thomas the Tank Engine. Not quite the creative inspiration I expected, but my knowledge of steam trains is unmatched.
